Interludes: A Sojourn of Tales
SECRET OF STILLWOOD MARSH
Strange entities have been disturbing Astian for weeks, as a palpable unrest soon overtakes the bustling seaport. A harrowing procession occurs every night near the Stillwood Marsh, filled with bizarre and terrible apparitions. So far, no one has been hurt, but the Trade Council is concerned enough to enlist aid in investigating the spectral unrest. The marsh hordes its secrets jealously however, its dense tangle of rot and vegetation hampering all but the most determined of adventurers. Every manner of vermin and beast linger beneath the banyan trees. Savage predators lurk its fetid waters. And somewhere deep beyond the twisting vines and ancient willows, strewn in centuries of moss and mildew, a ruined ziggurat holds the key to stopping the creeping doom from growing.
Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition immerses you in a world of adventure. Explore ancient ruins and deadly dungeons. Battle monsters while searching for forgotten treasures. A big change to the new edition is the advantage/disadvantage mechanic, which collapses a lot of the circumstance bonuses. No more BAB. No more skill points. Character background is now a mandatory part of character generation. A Background includes additional skill and tool proficiencies, and even bonus equipment, as well as a “Feature” that gives some sort of social advantage. All this makes for a more streamlined experience, with a focus on roleplaying and ease of combat.
