INTO THE SCRAWL
On the remote island of Scrawl, a strange artifact threatens to drag the descendants of a wicked ruler into the depths of hell. An old enemy, desperate for aid, beseeches past friends and foes alike with wild mutterings from her prison cell at the local guardhouse. She alone has the information that will take the players from the sleepy coastal town of Valden to the living library on the shores of Scrawl. The shifting archives host many dangers however, and the Dragon Empire’s icons may have some vested interest in the terrible relic hosted within. Working to thwart the heroes at every turn is a mysterious entity that seeks to claim the powerful weapon for itself, dooming countless innocents to damnation.
Now, the players must piece together the mysteries of the Outer Stacks. Navigate ancient studies, abandoned bookshelves, and festering laboratories. Explore the legacy of dead icons and the bitter history of the Templar. Follow clues and make daring incursions into the Vaults to locate your quarry. This time, there won’t be another chance.
In 13th Age, adventurers seek their fortunes in the Dragon Empire while powerful individuals known as Icons pursue goals that may preserve the empire from chaos, or send it over the edge. Players decide which Icons their characters ally with, and which ones they oppose. These relationships, along with a personal history and a unique trait chosen during character creation, help define an adventurer’s place in the world of 13th Age and lay the groundwork for epic stories that emerge through play.
